Many anglers think that the paternoster is much better than running ledger from the boat. I have tried them both and can say that although the frequency of fish caught with paternoster was better, the fish caught with running ledger were relatively bigger.
The use of special accesories such as plastic sleeves for running ledger especially at large depths (say more than 25 m) is very important.

I Prefer The paternoster rig with four or 3 hooks.

Uzgur li Le mela f dak il-fond ha tazzarda twaddab ledger, jithabblulek gieli il-frieghi tal-paternoster inti u tkebbeb ahseb u ara running ledger kif isir oqda. Li jahdem huwa f qighan iktar baxxi. Pero ma ninsewx li ahna ha nkunu nistadu min fuq mhux bhal art at an angle, gifieri iktar adatat ghal sajd mil-art il-ledger. Mhux qed neskludi li jista jahdem xinu l-iktar adatat.
